Login & Account Issues

Having trouble signing into your Chromebook? Try these simple troubleshooting steps for common login and account problems.

Can't Sign In

What to Try:

  1. Check that Caps Lock is OFF - passwords are case-sensitive
  2. Make sure you're using your school email address (usually yourname@yourschool.edu)
  3. Type your password carefully and check for typos
  4. Make sure you're connected to WiFi (click Browse as Guest if needed to connect first)
  5. Check if you can log in to Gmail on another device - if not, your password may have been changed
Important: Don't guess your password repeatedly - this can lock your account. If you're not sure, contact IT for help.

Forgot Password

What to Do:

  1. Do NOT keep guessing - you could lock your account
  2. Contact your teacher or school IT department
  3. They can reset your password or help you recover your account
  4. You may need to verify your identity

Account Locked or Disabled

What to Do:

If you see messages like "Account is disabled" or "This account is not allowed":

  1. Contact your school IT department or administration immediately
  2. Your account may need to be reactivated by an administrator
  3. Make sure you're using your school account, not a personal Gmail account
  4. Your Chromebook may need to be enrolled for your account
Quick Tip: Most login issues are caused by incorrect passwords or account status problems that require IT assistance.
